My favourite resources

This is where you will find all of my favourite resources for booking flights, hostels, hotels, e-sims, hire cars, travel cards, travel insurance, and more. These recommendations are for services or products I have used or am still using today. If you purchase anything using the links below, a tiny commission goes towards the Roaming with Hammo brand without any extra cost to you, and it helps immensely. I would be eternally grateful for your support! Let’s dive in!

Booking travel

Booking travel is fun for me, and I want you to have the same experience. Below are some of my most trusted sites and applications for booking different aspects of my travel. This is why I have my favourite recommendations below. Click on the service you need and book that trip today! Have fun!

Skyscanner

My most trusted source for booking flights around the world. I am sure I have never used anything to book flights when searching on my own with a travel agent (which is rare nowadays).

Discover Cars

I now exclusively use Discover Cars for my car hire abroad and have had a great experience in Canada, Portugal, Oman, Jordan, and the UK. Get your hire car today and hit the road!

Revolut Travel Card

A travel card is always needed when abroad, and I use Revolut. There are no charges or fees to use the card, it gives a free amount to withdraw per month (depending on the account level), and it can be used in many places!

Booking.com

As I got older, I used Booking.com more to book hotels, the occasional hire car, and experience. With hostels becoming more expensive, this service is valuable when booking accommodation.

GigSky

I have recently purchased the new iPhone 15 Pro Max (the first time on a flagship phone), which allows me to use an e-sim for the first time. GigSky is the best value out there!

Trainline

Trainline is a service I use a lot when traveling in Europe; I have used it to travel in Italy, France, Spain, and Germany. Many people don’t know this but you can search for any trains (or buses) in any country. A great app and easy to use!

Hostelworld

Don’t get me wrong, hostels are still my first choice when I travel; I just stay in a private room these days. For any hostel, I go to Hostelworld first to check out the best in the place I am in.

SafetyWing

SafetyWing is my go-to for travel insurance. You can pay by the month so this is perfect if you travel on and off for the year. At a very reasonable price with a lot of coverage, you should get covered today!

Viator

I rarely book tours before I go as I leave to that on the ground and speak to local people, BUT for big ones like the Inca Trail, for example, I would use Viator. Their reach is huge, and the platform has everything covered for your style of travel.
