Listeners (and readers), I need your help!

A call to action for my podcast.

A call to action on my latest podcast episode.

Why am I looking for answers about my podcast audience?

My latest Winging It Travel Podcast episode this week is a two-minute episode in which I ask people to click this link to help me get answers on various topics related to my listeners.

As I approach my fourth year in the podcast and create more content on YouTube, I have a ten-question survey that anyone who listens or watches can answer. It is multiple-choice, too.

Why do you listen to the podcast? Where do you follow me for updates on the podcast? What type of content do you like the most?

These are just some of the questions I am asking to tailor further episodes as best as possible. There is no time to rest, and there is always the need to improve.

I am always looking to improve my content, provide better stories, tips, and information about places, and try to please different facets of my audience.

Whether it is long-format, solo episodes, traveling episodes, snippets, Shorts, YouTube content, or social media posts, I love creating all kinds of content.

Ultimately, I want this to be my full-time business in years to come, so I am making a big push this year to get things in place where they should be, like my website, audio production, video creation, etc.

The episode is below to hear more.

Please take a moment to follow my podcast on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Spreaker, Google Podcasts and YouTube.

What is coming up on the podcast, both on audio and video, for the second quarter of 2024?

Let’s start with the guests! I am pretty full for guests on the audio side up until August!

However, I have The Wanderlusting Wives, Judith Keys (My Best Friend In France), Scott Gurian from the Far From Home Podcast, Katrina McGhee (Author of How To Take A Career Break), The Broke Backpacker (Will Hatton) and Orest Zub from NomadMania coming up as guests.

All amazing travelers bring many stories, tips, experiences, expertise, and wisdom into the travel space.

For YouTube, I have just released an episode on Turkey, and next will be Lebanon, Jordan, Oman, UAE, and finishing this quarter off will be Nepal.

There will also be entries for my new Conversations Playlist with the people mentioned above, and maybe a few more in the works.

There is tons of content from the early years that I will be looking to re-purpose, and I will be doing a ‘best of’ episode series where I will share the best ten minutes of previous episodes in case you have joined late.

For the website, I am looking to get an interactive map linked to the episodes I have recorded and general updates to the content here.

My first event and travel of the year will be in May, as we head to Portland, Oregon.

Lots of exciting stuff to come!

Basic gesturing for the podcast

This is a nod to my last guest episode with Joel David Bond.

There were a lot of truth bombs and quotes in my previous guest episode with Joel, and you should download it to listen.

Here is the trailer below.

Joel’s quote for why we need to tell our travel tales to family and friends.

Why I would love for you to subscribe to my YouTube channel.

Do you ever look at your stats on the back end as a creator? I am not talking about podcast views or downloads here (although these are important); I am talking about reach.

I thought I would compare Spotify, Instagram, and YouTube for this metric, but I was a little shocked at the stats.

Spotify had 3.8k impressions, Instagram had 8k impressions, and YouTube had 125k impressions. This is all organic growth, too, by the way.

Holy moly!

This begs the question, why waste time on all the other platforms when I can concentrate on YouTube for reach, which will, in turn, get listeners and followers to the channel?

I am full steam ahead now for 2024, and while I will not stop content on any other platform but I will concentrate much of my efforts on YouTube.

Check out my latest YouTube episode in Türkiye checking out Ankara, Cappadocia and Istanbul.

In this week's episode, I am in Turkey for eight days, flying in from Vienna. We planned to see three major hubs in Turkey: Ankara (the capital city), Cappadocia, and Istanbul. One of the main aims of our whole trip was to do the balloon ride in Cappadocia, and we certainly loved that adventure. You can watch more about that at the link below. We also travelled to Turkey when Ramadan started, which was a unique experience for us.

I loved the Turkish people, food, coffee, accommodation, architecture, and vibe. My biggest lesson was that knowing a little Turkish goes a long way. Thanks to everyone that we met. We can't wait to go back for more! Oh, year, did I mention that my baklava addiction started here? Crikey, how good is that stuff?
